Now accepting applications for the 2021-2022 Junior Board

About Our Junior Board

Lolo’s Angels, Inc has a Junior Board of Directors made up of high school students from throughout the Omaha Metropolitan area. These students meet once a month (either 2nd or 3rd Sunday at 4:00 pm), conduct service for area children with cancer, run fundraisers, conduct blood and bone marrow drives, and raise awareness about pediatric cancer. The students learn about pediatric cancer and ways to help.

Some of the service opportunities include a pediatric cancer awareness rally, a local toy drive, serving dinner at the Rainbow House and Ronald McDonald House, and sending cards, letters, videos to kids fighting cancer. Jr. Board students will also learn how to run a nonprofit and the impact that this can have on both a local and national community.

The Jr. Board of Directors is one aspect of the larger organization Lolo’s Angels, Inc., a 501c3 that raises money for pediatric cancer research.

If you would like to hear more about the Jr. Board from students who are currently involved, please watch our video.

Want to Join Our Board? Here’s how to apply.

Applications must be received by May 10th at 5:00 pm. Although working on a Jr. Board of Directors is a wonderful addition to anyone’s college resume, please do not apply for this position unless you have a true interest in helping children with cancer. This is an incredible opportunity for high school students. Our organization puts a lot of time and effort into running an effective Jr. Board. If selected, students are expected to attend meetings monthly and participate in events that are held approximately every other month. Many students have sports or other clubs, so if there is a conflict with an event, it will be understood. However, monthly meetings are mandatory. If a student cannot attend monthly meetings or has a habit of missed meetings, the student will be asked to resign from the Jr. Board.

This is a fun and rewarding experience. Get ready to expand your heart!

Here is the application form for the 2021-2022 Lolo’s Angels Junior Board:.

Applications are due May 10th by 5pm.

Our first meeting will be Friday, June 4th at 7pm at the Hacker home. You will be contacted via email before the first meeting with more details.

Please email either LesLee Hacker (President of Lolo’s Angels) or Halli Tripe (Jr. Board Director) with any questions.

Lolo’s Angels Jr Board “Surviving and Thriving” Fundraiser

Want to join me in supporting a good cause? I’m raising money for Lolo’s Angels Junior Board “Surviving and Thriving” Fundraiser for the Children’s Survivorship Clinc. Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. Each Junior Board member has set a goal to raise $100. Every dollar raised will go to a combined donation for the Children’s Survivorship Clinic.

Facebook charges a minimal administrative fee, otherwise, all donations will go directly to the cause! This is the first fundraiser for this new Junior Board. They are excited to make a difference for kids with cancer. If you are supporting a specific Junior Board member in their fundraising efforts, please indicate their name in the comments when you post your donation. We are so thankful to have this chance to help kids with cancer to survive and thrive!

Target AML - Overview videoAML is one of the poorest prognosis pediatric cancers. Help us accelerate a key research initiative to speed personalized, precision therapies to desperate infants, kids, teens and young adult patients ages 0-35. Over 80% of AML cases are diagnosed in adults over 60, so most research is focused in seniors. But, AML is biologically different in younger patients. The TpAML initiative is the Children's Oncology Group's "highest potential and greatest need" AML research project. The goal is to understand the drivers and vulnerabilities of this devastating leukemia in young people leveraging the power of genomic sequencing.
