Lolo’s Angels Holds “Search For The Cure” Scavenger Hunt on April 28, 2019

This first time event was a huge success for Lolo’s Angels! Thank you to the participation of our wonderful teams for such a fun day and enthusiastic support. Our very first “Search For the Cure” Scavenger Hunt was held at Film Streams’ Dundee Theater. Teams of 4-6 participants signed up together, named their team, and came out for an afternoon of Omaha trivia and landmark hunting. Once teams checked in at 12:30, they put on their event shirts, they took off in one car to a list of landmarks listed from the Omaha Old Market through Midtown Crossing, the Blackstone District, Dundee, and the Memorial Park region. They stopped at landmarks such as the “Eagle” statue at Central High, the Carrot Sculpture in the Dundee Gardens, and the rainbow man by Le Buvette. Some teams went for the prize for maximum points and hit almost every landmark. Some teams tried to win prizes by collecting donations from strangers, and all the teams uploaded great pictures to our twitter account with the hashtag #GoLoloGo! As the teams were competing, our board of directors were busy tallying points from the pictures uploaded.

We had many wonderful sponsors! (Please refer to our “Thank You” to our incredible sponsors below!) At the end of the time, teams returned to Film Streams’ Dundee Theater for beer, wine, and food prepared by the Kitchen Table. They then gathered in the main theater at Film Streams Dundee Theater for a brief presentation about the battle against pediatric cancer that Lolo’s Angels has been fighting since its beginnings n February f 2017. We were very excited to award prizes to our top teams of golf at Field Club, dinner at Blackstone Meatball, dinner at Le Boullion, tickets to Omaha Fashion Week, and a Pub Crawl worth $200.00 to 3 area pubs.

In addition to having a great time, this event resulted in a $15,000.00 to Dr. Kate Hyde’s pediatric cancer research project at UNMC. Lolo Hacker represented Lolo’s Angels and brought a check to the Nebraska Foundation offices June 6, 2019! This makes a total of $25,000.00 donated to UNMC for pediatric cancer research in less than a year from Lolo’s Angels! Lolo’s Angels, Inc. has been in operation for 2 1/2 years and we have now donated $91,000.00 to pediatric cancer research to date, donated $21,000.00 worth of toys and games to Children’s Hospital and we have run 54 bone marrow drives! Not too shabby for a group of dedicated volunteers!?

Thank you Film Streams’ Dundee Theater for hosting the Lolo’s Angels’ Search For The Cure Scavenger Hunt
